Dear Grade 7s and 8s,
Now that we are in Semester 2, halfway through your year, some thoughts on how to step it up:
–Try hard the first time. Don’t wait for a chance to re-do an assignment or assessment. In this semester, you will not be able to re-do every assignment because you are not satisfied with the grade.
–Label your work. When you submit work– on Dropbox, via email, through turnitin, etc.– label your work CORRECTLY. The file should include YOUR NAME and THE ASSIGNMENT.
–Read the directions. Before starting an assignment, be sure to carefully read the task (on ManageBac, on the blog, etc.) so that you know what is required of you.
–Check out the rubric. Do you know on what criteria you are being graded? What’s expected of you? Check out the rubric!
–Ask 3 before me. Ask your peers if you’re confused about or have a question about an assignment before contacting me. Check the blog, ManageBac, etc., as the answer is probably there.
–Step it up. Like my first point, PUT EFFORT in what you do. If you care about your work– if you put effort– it will show! (Likewise, if you don’t care about your work, that will show as well.) If you don’t take pride in your work, why should I care to read it?
I’m looking forward to an awesome second half of your 7th and 8th grade year.
Let’s do this!
