In Humanities this week, we started and continued interviewing subjects for our Humans of Istanbul Summative Assessment.
Using what we learned with Mrs. bond in English class with how to interview, we pushed our questions and followed up with “What do you mean?” or “Can you explain that a bit more?” Some of you even STEPPED OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONES and interviewed people you didn’t know. Great work!
BY MONDAY/ TUESDAY:
- Have all four ‘Human of Istanbul’ interviews done.
- Be ready to share all four transcripts– your interviewee’s words are quoted, and you record word-for-word what each person said. (This CANNOT be posted to the Google Spreadsheet. Record your interviews on a SEPARATE document!)
Continue looking at Humans of New York for inspiration and guidance. See how each of the posts are set up. What quotes are the most interesting? Why did Brandon choose those specific lines to share?
Next week in class, we will determine important information and narrow down the transcripts of each interviewee. We will choose the most poignant quotes to tell each person’s story.
